Beating the Bushes – A Practicum
A hallmark of being in the right place at the right time is the wisdom of carrying the right stick with which to scare up opportunity. If it’s a 14th Century Nordic cudgel (and you’re more softspoken than you’d like … Continue reading

The Wine Scam Persists
Classic victimization. So if you reach out and ask “Who’s the shipping company and what’s their contact info?” you’ll learn that the shipping company is just setting up a new office and doesn’t have a website or phone system set up yet. Continue reading

Simple Math ’08 Napa Cab Scores an A
I was never a fan of “complicated” math. As humans, we just prefer to do what we love, right? So, as a result, I was a B student in my youth – my right brain earned me the A’s and my … Continue reading
Corkage and Toy Food
Sometimes we folk prefer to let someone else do the cooking. It happens all the time – on Wednesday nights that hit as hard as Fridays after miring about in the trenches, and on holidays as well. It’s fun to whip something up for my wife but the surprise element isn’t there if we’re both at home and I can’t convince her to run some errands. Continue reading

Buffaloed
There’s a lot for me to say about buffalo, and I love the word for its flexible application. You get opportunities to diddle with parts of speech at almost every turn but the magic happens when you can find a … Continue reading
